Sunderland Safeguarding Learning Week 2026

Vulnerable Babies:16-22 November 2026

In partnership with Baby Week Sunderland, Sunderland Safeguarding Learning Week 2026 brings together professionals from across the partnership to explore the vulnerability of babies, strengthen safeguarding practice and share learning that helps children and families thrive.

Safeguarding begins before birth and continues throughout infancy, childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood. This year's programme highlights the importance of early intervention, curiosity, professional challenge and effective multi-agency working to ensure the best possible outcomes for babies and their families.

Alongside a range of live learning opportunities, resources will be released throughout the week, including new podcast episodes focusing on:

  • Sunderland's Best Start Family Hubs
  • Infant Mental Health
