Multi-Agency Reflection Forums
Multi-Agency Reflection forums are an opportunity for practitioners to get together to reflect and learn from their collaborative work which has resulted in good outcomes for a child or young person. We know there are countless examples of excellent multi-agency working with children, young people and their families happening all the time, and we need to be sharing and celebrating them.
In these forums we look at and discuss the detail of best practice examples through Appreciative Inquiry. Appreciative Inquiry is a questioning approach used within Signs of Safety that purposely focuses on what has gone well, it brings about an understanding of how this has been achieved through reflective questioning to learn from this good practice and develop this in the future to use more often.
Taking learning from good practice and having opportunities for practitioners to reflect in a multi-agency forum is crucial and has been recommended in previous Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (CSPR’s). We encourage managers from all partner agencies to bring forward examples of good practice where, through multi-agency working, a positive outcome has been achieved for a child, young person or their family.
Nominations can be sent to pamela.finn@sunderland.gov.uk for consideration of suitability for a Multi-Agency Reflection Forum.
