What to do if you’re worried about yourself or a friend

If you are a Child or Young Person, this part of the website is for you. A child or young person is anyone aged up to 18. The term Child usually means a person up to 12, the term Young Person is then used for teenagers, up to 18.

We can help if:

  • You are being mistreated or abused by someone and you’re not sure what to do
  • You think another child/young person is being mistreated or abused
  • You need advice or need to talk to someone, you can confidentially talk to:

Kooth.com is a free, online counselling and emotional wellbeing platform for young people in Sunderland aged 11 to 18 years old.

The Kooth website allows young people to gain anonymous access to advice, support and guidance on any issue that is affecting their wellbeing. From friendship or relationship issues, family disagreements or difficult home lives, to concerns around eating, anxiety, stress, depression, self harm, suicidal thoughts etc.
