Sunderland Safeguarding Children Partnership

LGBTQ+

Cozmic 3piphany

This group is for young people aged 11-18 (up to 25 if young person has SEND or is care experienced) who identify as LGBTQ+ or are questioning their sexuality and/or gender identity. The group represents the voices of LGBTQ+ young people in Sunderland, campaigning for change and championing LGBTQ+ inclusion.

The group is a confidential space facilitated by specially trained workers who ensure all members feel heard, valued and safe. We meet every other Thursday from 4.45-6.15pm in the city centre.

If you're interested in making positive change for Sunderland's LGBTQ+ young people then this group is for you! Get in touch with us for more information: youthvoice@togetherforchildren.org.uk

Washington Mind

LGBTQI Youth Group (1)

Rainbow Foundation

Focus on education, awareness raising and activities to support and promote the LGBTQ+ community across the North East region. They were circulating a monthly bulletin that provides updates on latest activity and upcoming events that can be signed up to on their website. Recently they had established an LGBTQ+ Youth group aimed at individuals aged 16-24 years, and had been running the 3rd Saturday of each month, 1pm-4pm at a venue in Roker.

Currently they are working remotely and aim to provide support to people via online/social media, by email or phone. Their website or social media accounts should hopefully provide further information. The Chairman of Rainbow Foundation is the chair of our LGBT Forum.
