Sunderland Safeguarding Children Partnership

SSCP Practitioner Forum - Culture, Ethnicity and Identity when providing support, help and protection

The aim of Sunderland Safeguarding Children Partnership Practitioner Forum is held to review working practices by frontline professionals to establish successes and challenges with our work across Sunderland.

Tuesday 2nd July 2024, 9:30am-12:30pm  (Via  Teams)

This will be an opportunity for frontline practitioners to have open and honest discussions around the effectiveness of current working practices in relation to Culture, Ethnicity and Identity when providing help, support and protection to children, young people and families.

The focus for the event is to establish how we as a multi-agency workforce can safeguard and enhance opportunities for children. To do this we will hold discussions on current data provided by our statutory partners, gaps in support, opportunities for recording and how/if this represents the voice of the child and their family. We will do this by asking:

What is working well, what are we worried about and what next?

When you have reserved your place you will receive further communication from Pamela Finn, Practitioner Forum Coordinator, who will give you more detail on how to participate. Your involvement at whatever stage of the process is invaluable. You can be involved with this initial discussion or through the investigation phase working to create the multi-agency action plan.
